Mercedes Benz have officially become the latest manufacturers to adopt the SERMI (Security-related Repair Maintenance Information) scheme in the UK, effective April 1st.
What This Means for Workshops
If your workshop frequently performs diagnostic work or replaces security-related components on these brands, obtaining SERMI certification is now essential.
It is important to note that “security-related” information covers more than just keys and immobilisers. It often includes:
- Engine ECUs
- Body Controllers
- Instrument Clusters
Remote Support & Compliance
As a certified Remote Service Supplier (RSS), Opus IVS can continue to provide remote services on these security-related systems. However, we can only assist your workshop if you have also achieved individual SERMI certification.
