The Security-related Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Information (SERMI) scheme will officially go live in the UK on 1st April 2026, marking a significant milestone for independent garages and workshops preparing to support security-related vehicle services.
This announcement follows the recent confirmation of SERMI activation and ongoing industry progress toward secure, audited access to protected vehicle systems.
Wide Manufacturer Backing
A number of vehicle manufacturers have already committed to SERMI in the UK, including:
Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Ford, Jaguar, Jeep®, Lancia, Land Rover, Maserati, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Ram Trucks, Toyota and Vauxhall.
This broad adoption means that, from April, accredited businesses will be able to access security-related interfaces and data under a unified SERMI framework, provided they meet the scheme’s requirements.
Opus IVS Ready to Support Workshops
Opus IVS has already registered technicians for SERMI and is positioned to provide full support to customers once the scheme goes live.
